Ash Wednesday Service

FUMC Charlotte’s Ash Wednesday Service will be at 7:00 pm on Ash Wednesday, February 22, 2012.
Charlotte District Lay Speaker Renewal
Steve Kurt and Jinny Mitchell will be attending the District Training Advanced Certification Renewal in February at St. Paul UMC in Charlotte. This renewal study is required by the Book of Discipline (within a three-year window of time) for all who wish to retain their certification.
This year’s text is Craig Kennet Miller’s Next Church.Now – Creating New Faith Communities. All participants commit to ten hours class study. Here is a quote from one of the earlier chapters:
“Throughout the biblical narrative, from Abraham to Moses and from Jesus to Paul, God calls leaders to share the faith with a people group. It is not enough for an individual to accept God and then worship God in isolation. What matters is how we live out the faith together.”

Loaves and Fishes Food Drive
This Valentine’s season show love for your neighbor by participating in a Loaves and Fishes food drive. FUMC will collect food items on Sunday Feb 19th in the Narthex. Current greatest needs include canned meat, 100% fruit juice, canned pastas, cereal and canned fruit. Please no glass items. The outreach committee appreciates your generous contributions to this incredible need in our community!
Room in the Inn
